My work is rooted in memory, myth, and light.
As a Spanish-born artist living among Monterey Bay’s coastal redwoods, I carry two worlds in me: the warmth and poetry of the Old World, and the raw, untamed beauty of nature here. My paintings often come from small moments—a childhood shadow, a sacred place, a beam of afternoon sun—and I try to hold onto them, to keep them alive a little longer.
I am drawn to places that hold a kind of spiritual resonance—ancient landmarks, small chapels, winding trails—not as tourist sites, but as living portals to memory and meaning. In my California work, I often find echoes of my native Spain: in adobe walls, in dry earth, in the scent of pine.
To honor the intimacy of these quiet landscapes, my process extends beyond the paper. I transform my luminous watercolor washes into tactile, three-dimensional pieces—rare art objects curated specifically for the sensitive observer. By sealing the painted artwork with cold wax and meticulously pairing it with sourced vintage metal and antique wood frames, I invite the viewer to step close. These are not just paintings; they are physical, dimensional objects designed to hold the deep, often unspoken ties between the places I call home.
This connection to the quiet beauty of the world eventually became a calling I needed to answer. When my former career became suffocating, I stepped away to dedicate my life entirely to my art. Now, working full-time from my studio in the woods, I let the rhythm of the forest—and the profound peace of chosen solitude—dictate my days.
Above all, painting is how I listen—to the land, to my ancestors, and to the quiet magic that exists in the spaces between. Because the animals that share this environment are as vital to my life as the art itself, 20% of all proceeds from my work are donated directly to local cat rescues.
I believe that bringing original art into your life should be a beautiful, seamless experience, and that a creative business must give back to its community.
My gallery is designed to welcome collectors at every stage. Whether you are finding a moment of quiet with a small, jewel-like framed mini, or investing in a larger piece, every piece is crafted in my home in the mountains with the same deep intention and atmospheric care.
A core part of my "why" is giving back. I am a proud supporter of ASAP Cats in Santa Barbara, an organization I know and love. 20% of every single art sale is donated directly to their incredible team to support the rescue, care, and adoption of cats in our community. When you collect my work, you are not only bringing a piece of the natural world into your home; you are joining me in a kinder way of doing business.
Forget cute and cuddly. Spike's the real deal – a legend, a king among cats.
Beyond cute and cuddly - all hail the mysterious queen
An overdose of adorable, pure, unadulterated sweetness.
Growing up in Spain, I felt a deep pull toward art, yet I spent my childhood staring at empty sketchbooks, paralyzed by the fear of the blank page. Instead, I sought comfort in structure, eventually earning a degree in Math. It wasn't until a difficult relocation to the US in 1999 that I finally picked up a pencil, desperate for an anchor to the life and landscapes I had left behind.
For years, I channeled my creative energy into fine art black-and-white photography, but the quiet desire to paint never left me. In 2018, I finally looked back at those empty sketchbooks of my youth, bought my first watercolor supplies, and discovered a profound sense of peace. The unpredictable, fluid magic of water and pigment became the perfect antidote to the rigid systems of my corporate career.
In 2025, I made the decisive choice to step away from the corporate world entirely, retreating to my cabin in the woods to let the rhythm of the forest dictate my days. Today, my practice has evolved from a private sanctuary into a shared connection. Whether I am crafting a tactile, cold-waxed miniature for a collector or guiding my watercolor students at the Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center, my goal is the same: to help others find the courage to translate their own quiet moments onto paper.
Not always. Some pieces have already found homes, and others I may be holding onto for now. But if there’s a piece that speaks to you, even if it’s not marked as available, feel free to reach out—I’m always open to conversations.
Occasionally. If you have a meaningful idea or space you’d like to bring to life through my work, send me a note. If the timing and spirit feel right, I’d love to explore what we can create together.
I don’t hold regular open studio hours. However, my work is occasionally exhibited in galleries or local shows. If you’d like to be the first to hear about upcoming exhibitions or events, I invite you to sign up for my newsletter.
Most of the work I share is original, but I do offer select pieces as fine art prints from time to time. If you see something you love, let me know—I may have a print available, or I can let you know when a new edition is coming.
